Winter Shipping

Zone 9 Tropicals' Cold Weather Policy

Zone 9 Tropicals institutes a Winter Shipping policy during cold weather.
As we all know tropical plants do not like cold weather. We cannot a ship a plant to a customer if we know that what will arrive will die en route. This makes for a terrible experience and sad faces all around.

When a customer orders a plant that goes through cold weather either at the destination or on the way to its destination, we will place the order on Winter Hold. Once conditions have improved, we will send the plant on its way.

An order on Winter Hold will not ship until the weather permits. We understand some customers will opt out of the policy in which case we will happily refund your purchase. This courtesy is extended through the duration of the hold. If your order is placed on Winter Hold and you would prefer a refund, let us know and we will promptly issue a refund.

We have held plants for customers during the entire winter and well into spring before we ship. Because we must pull stock out of inventory, we will charge your payment method at the time of purchase. During this time, we will care for the plants on hold.

There may be instances where plants are unavoidably lost during a winter hold. If an order cannot be fulfilled, we will refund 100% of the order. On large orders with multiple plants, we will contact you if there are any concerns with fulfilment.

Refunds will be issued via the original payment method. Winter holds can exceed the time your banking institution allows us to refund a transaction. In this event, we will send either PayPal funds to you or mail a check.

TLDR

  • If its too cold to ship your plants, they will be put on Winter Hold.
  • If we place your order on Winter Hold you may opt out and request a refund.
  • If during Winter Hold you get tired of waiting, you may request a refund.
  • If we cannot fulfill your order, we will issue a refund.
