Aristolochia gigantea 'Dutchman's Pipe'
Deep maroon wth yellow venation. Large flowers as big as an adults hand.
An attractive cork-like, woody, evergreen twiner with broad heart shaped, pointed green leaves, up to 10 inches long. Bears stunning rounded, maroon flowers with ivory-mottled veins, and yellow throat that beckons the insects in for pollination. Blooms spring and summer. It is the host plant for the Pipevine and Paladames Swallowtail butterflies. Full to part sun, in well drained soil, and moderate moisture.
