Strelitzia nicolai 'Giant White Bird-of-Paradise'
Very tall with big white and steel blue inflorescence.
The giant White bird of Paradise is a magnificent plant adored for it large paddle leaves resembling those of a banana tree. In its natural home of the tropics, it can get to 30 feet high and 15 feet wide.
When in bloom, the flowers are steely blue with a white crown that imaginatively appear like a bird.
Strelitzia nicolai prefers full sun in well watered soil and may survive a short bout of frost. Freezing temperatures will slow it down but it will not surive long durations of freezing conditions.
