Costus quickly became my favorite plant to collect. There are so many different kinds: small ones, big ones, smooth ones, fat ones, hardy ones, tender ones.
Most people know them as spiral gingers for their habit of growing upward in a helical fashion. Offered here are some of the costus I have propagated from my collection. Most are sold in 4 inch rounds since they are the most economical to ship, and they are a decent, pleasant size to receive.
Note: During November through April, any Costus sold may be provided as rhizomes. Some Costus will go dormant in a Zone 9 climate. Rhizomes, supplied instead of growing plants, meet our stringent requirements to provide extraordinary specimens with multiple stems. |
