Costus barbatus "Red Tower Ginger" (qt)

1 Quart Pot

Costus barbatus "Red Tower Ginger"

Looking for an easy tropical look for your garden? Costus barbatus can fill that niche next to your pool or patio garden. Planted alongside low Kaempferias or next to tall White Bird of Paradise, Costus barbatus will demand attention. Its strong vertical presence topped with beautiful, tubular yellow flowers standing out against outrageously exotic waxy red inflorescences. This plant is sold in the horticulture trade as Costus barbatus, however the real name is Costus comosus var. bakeri.

The red bracts grow all year long in layers.

  • Flower Color: yellow, red
  • Foliage Color: green

  • Humidity prefers high humidity
