Bambusa multiplex 'Alphonse Karr' A non-invasive subtropical clumping bamboo with multiple branches at each node. Often used as a hedge. New shoots grow during summer and fall in the Houston area. Culms and branches are bright yellow with narrow dark green stripes. Culms grow to 1.5 inches in diameter and 25 feet tall. Hardy to 18 degrees F.
