Akebia quinata - Chocolate Vine

This semi-evergreen climber has rounded leaves that are dark green on top and blue green on the bottom, tinged purple in winter. It bears spicy fragrant, coppery purple cup shaped flowers on pendant racemes to 5 inches long in early spring. These are sometimes followed by unusual elongated fleshy purple fruit.
